The bay of Câmara de Lobos annually hosts the Black Scabbardfish Festival, an event which is organised by the Câmara de Lobos Parish Council and which is, in fact, a great and enjoyable festival dedicated to the promotion of one of the most typical Madeiran gastronomic specialities. Combining fun and gastronomy, at the Black Scabbardfish Festival everyone is invited to participate in various activities such as show cookings, music and dance shows, among other activities which divulge a little about the fishing activity of the municipality and convey the gastronomic potential of this fish.
