On 27 March at 9 pm, the 39th Madeira Music Festival presents one of the most memorable moments in choral-symphonic music: Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem in D minor, at the Church of St John the Evangelist (Colégio).
Conducted by Artur Pinho Maria, the Inês de Castro Symphony Choir will perform alongside soloists Leonor Barbosa de Melo (soprano) and Gabriel Alonso (baritone), offering a profound and luminous interpretation of this sacred masterpiece.
With its delicate, serene piece, Fauré’s Requiem invites reflection, peace and transcendence — a musical experience that touches the heart and soul.
The Artistic Direction of the Festival is led by violinist Norberto Gomes.
