The 39th Madeira Music Festival comes to a magnificent close with an outstanding Closing Concert performed by the Madeira Classical Orchestra, under the direction of renowned conductor Gianluca Marcianò,
Joining the orchestra are the Inês de Castro Symphonic Choir and the Madeira Chamber Choir, together with an exceptional line-up of soloists — Maria Zapata, Ustinya Malinina, Eduardo Niave and Gabriel Alonso — for a performance of one of the most iconic works in the history of music: Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9.
The concert takes place at Funchal Cathedral on Saturday, 28 March, at 9:30 pm, promising an evening of great solemnity and emotion, where the universal power of Beethoven’s music unfolds as a collective celebration and the triumphant culmination of the festival.
The Festival’s Artistic Direction is led by violinist Norberto Gomes.
