On 19 September, Funchal welcomes Lúmen, a unique show featuring five-metre-tall giant puppets, music, light and movement. The performance involves around 50 participants from the local community, as well as several sports, recreational and musical organisations, in an experience that brings together art, music and movement.
Following a tour of Portugal and Spain, Lúmen makes its debut in Funchal, transforming the city’s streets into a large open-air stage. The show begins at 9:30 pm at Campo da Barca, before continuing as a procession along Rua João de Deus and Rua do Bom Jesus, ending at Praça do Município.
