Saint John’s Altars (Funchal)

In the city of Funchal, Praça do Carmo and the surrounding streets are dressed in colour and tradition with Saint John’s Altars. The altars are made by several merchants, each with motifs associated with what they sell. Entertainment is also guaranteed by traditional Madeiran bands, and Praça do Carmo will be the cultural centre of the city of Funchal during these days.
