The Baltazar Dias Municipal Theatre hosts from 8 to 14 March the project ‘Ecos do Funchal : Uma Sinfonia Paisagista’ (Echoes of Funchal: A Landscape Symphony), an artistic residency at the Estúdio de Criação Artística (Artistic Creation Studio) which combines music and cultural identity, inspired by the sounds and landscapes of the city, by Romeu Curto, a recipient of the 2024 artistic creation award for performing arts.
Composed by Ema Ferreira, it musically translates the natural and cultural richness of Funchal, creating an immersive sensory experience. This event closes with a concert, on 15 March at 6pm, and marks its world premiere, an unprecedented contemporary work, composed especially for guitar quartet and electronics, conceived by Romeu Curto.
