Ethnographic display Camacha de ontem-Madeira de sempre (Yesterday’s Camacha – All time Madeira)

Would you like to see a unique event which discloses and replicates the rich Madeiran traditions and gastronomy through the recreation of an ethnographic village? Then, head to the parish of Camacha.

The ethnographic display “Camacha de Ontem – Madeira de Sempre”, held on July 11th and 12th, allows visitors to experience the cultural traditions which are still strong and alive, from wickerwork, to agricultural activities, traditional costumes, folklore, pastoralism, gastronomy, as well as other popular ethnographic aspects, thus recreating the cultural richness of the parish of Camacha.

The Ethnographical Parade, which takes place on 11 July, at 5.30pm, is an event that contributes authentically to the dissemination of the town’s cultural traditions, which are portrayed by the six folklore groups and various institutions that organise this annual cultural event.
