The exhibition “Jazz em Caminhos” is an invitation to a retrospective journey through the history of jazz in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, from the beginning of the last century to the present. Thematically, three different modules were mapped illustrating the uniqueness of the relationship between the artistic-musical manifestation and the region, throughout the entire chronological line: Jazz as a musical genre interpreted in different spaces and contexts in the region; the teaching of jazz in Madeira and, finally, its current reality with a look at the future.
This exhibition takes place at John dos Estreito da Calheta Cultural Centre, in Ponta do Sol, between September,9th to 25th, from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 to 17:00.
The exhibit is free entrance.
