Madeira is once again the stage for one of Europe’s most prestigious organ festivals. From 17 to 26 October, historic churches on the island will host unique concerts and conferences celebrating the theme ‘Women in Music’, with works by composers such as Mel Bonis, Jeanne Demessieux and Hildegard von Bingen.
In its 14th edition, the festival once again gathers renowned national and international performers in a programme that harmonises tradition, spirituality, and musical innovation. It stands as a distinguished celebration of Madeiran culture, set within a space of remarkable architectural and acoustic excellence.
This festival aims at presenting this project, developed in the framework of recovering an almost unknown heritage, as well as enriching and promoting the decentralization of the organ’s cultural offer within the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
