The Natural History Museum of Funchal hosts the exhibition on the theme “Waterline” by Gonçalo Gomes, in a show that presents unique and exclusive images of marine biodiversity of the Madeira archipelago.
This exhibition is characterized by the use of new technologies with a series of video and photographic images in a project that meets the mission of the Natural History Museum of Funchal in the dissemination of marine life and awareness of the importance of ocean conservation and preservation of marine ecosystems.

ABM Madeira presents the concert “Fala-me de Música” – Duo Bandonica, as part of the 2026 season, featuring a series of performances across various municipalities of the Autonomous Region of Madeira.

The project brings together mandolinist Francisca Abreu and accordionist Alessio Ferrari, offering the audience a borderless musical journey, where mandolin and accordion engage in a dialogue across different cultures, eras, and traditions.

A unique opportunity to enjoy a concert combining instrumental dialogue, emotion, and shared experience, promoting cultural accessibility throughout the region.

Recognized as the oldest and youngest Mandolin Orchestra in Europe, a distinction of relevance in a region of excellence within the European community, the Madeira Mandolin Orchestra® presents itself in the 2026 Musical Season with a unique artistic proposal and diversified, contemplating programs adapted to the mandolin of the great classics of world music, striving for the quality that is recognized in the preservation and dissemination of the history of the mandolin in Madeira.
These concerts are held at the Holy Trinity Church and at Madeira Legislative Assembly.

Adrian Butterfield Concert | OCM

The Madeira Classical Orchestra, under the artistic direction of violinist Norberto Gomes, presents a concert celebrating the splendour of Baroque music, conducted by Adrian Butterfield, an internationally renowned specialist in the historically informed performance of this repertoire. The concert will take place on 26 September at 6 p.m., in the Grand Hall of the Legislative Assembly of Madeira.

The programme features some of the most iconic works by composers including Jean-Marie Leclair, Georg Friedrich Händel, Johann Sebastian Bach, Jean-Philippe Rameau and Antonio Vivaldi, showcasing the stylistic richness, elegance and virtuosity that characterise this remarkable period in music history.

The Madeira Classical Orchestra invites audiences to enjoy a concert filled with the expressiveness and brilliance of the Baroque, combining interpretative excellence, refined sonority and profound artistic sensitivity.

XI Poncha and Honey Festival

The eleventh edition of the Poncha and Honey Festival is organised by the Casa do Povo da Serra de Água and takes place from 23 to 24 January.
This festival honours the famous regional drink and the products needed to make it, such as honey, while at the same time boosting the parish’s economy.
As well as the exhibition, the event includes various technical talks aimed at farmers and beekeepers. There will also be musical entertainment on these days, with various regional groups and artists performing.

Machico hosts the “Mercado Quinhentista” between June 4th to 6th, the 16th-century Market”, an event that evokes the historical period of the discovery of the island, which has gained a prominent cultural status.

Organized by the MQ – Mercado Quinhentista – Associação de Recreação Histórica de Machico, in partnership with the Elementary and Secondary Schools of Machico, this initiative takes place in Machico´s downtown at Largo da Praça, in Alameda Dr. José António de Almada, and offers a number of cultural and musical activities.

The decentralised programme of events in seaside venues, aims to bring the public closer to scientific and environmental culture through the screening of documentaries, the contextualization of filmmakers and reflection on Madeira’s natural heritage.
