The municipality of Santana annually hosts the Trout Festival and the Cider Route, an event which takes place simultaneously with the Cultural Groups Meeting of this Municipality.
This event is a great opportunity to promote two gastronomic elements which are not yet widely known by tourists visiting Madeira. Therefore, over the 5 days of the festival, everyone will be able to visit the Ribeiro Frio aquaculture station and participate in trout fishing competitions, amongst other activities. The food tastings based on trout and cider are also very popular, as well as the exhibitions which divulge the artisanal process of producing cider, a very popular drink in Madeira.
