On 26 June at 6:30 pm, Portal das Artes, in Funchal, will host the lecture “The History and Evolution of the Mandolin: From the 17th Century to the Present Day”, presented by renowned luthier and mandolin maker Federico Gabrielli.
During this engaging session, audiences will be taken on a journey through the history and development of the mandolin and other plucked string instruments, from the 17th century to the present day. Drawing on more than four decades of experience in instrument making and restoration, Gabrielli will share historical insights, musical examples and highlights from his distinguished career, offering a unique perspective on the evolution of this remarkable instrument across the centuries.
