As part of the temporary exhibition “Harmonium – Drawing, Painting and Music in relation”, between June and October, the Funchal Museum of Sacred Art promotes a series of concert visits, at 11am, each lasting 45 minutes.
These concert visits foresee a 30-minute guided tour around the permanent collection and the temporary exhibition, to approach historical and artistic aspects related to liturgical music, culminating with a 15-minute musical moment, led by the organist of the Cathedral of Funchal (Sé), Nelson Quintal, which will include thematic musical pieces extracted from the book “A Century of Sacred Music of Madeira”, by João Armando Rufino da Silva, as well as pieces of the organist’s own authorship.
Each visit is limited to 12 participants per group, has a cost of 8 euros per person and requires registration through the number (+351) 291 228 900.
