Ethnographic Village

Largo da Restauração This Ethnographic Village presents live examples of local traditions, crafts, food, folklore and two traditional nativity scenes, promoting the tangible and intangible culture of Madeira.
There are two types of traditional nativity scenes: the traditional
Madeiran one located outside, which represents the human and natural landscape with vegetation, terraces, valleys, ravines, little houses and haystacks; and the tiered one, with its characteristic elements such as the Child Jesus, bows, fruit, grains and bread, amongst others.
You can also order the typical wheat soup and bolo do caco bread, sold only for take away.
