
The Transquadra International Regatta is a two-stage sailing event that connects Europe with America. The first stage begins in Lorient and Marseille and ends in Madeira. Race lengths are 1100 and 1300 nautical miles, respectively.
In the second stage sailors travel about 2700 miles from Madeira to Martinica. This competition is for sail boats between 8,5 and 12 metres long. It is a challenging and memorable event for all the participants and spectators.
The first vessels arrived at Cais 8 on 14 July, last, where the Transquadra Village welcomed the sailors with celebrations and parallel events, in a competition involving 47 boats and 74 sailors, in the following categories, Solo, Doubles and the new Promotion/Cruise class.
The second race is set to take off, on 1 February, setting sail from the Bay of Funchal towards Martinique in the Caribbean.
