From August 18 to 22, Funchal hosts another edition of the International Folklore Festival Funchal Folk – Arraial do Mundo.
The Monteverde Folklore Group is organising the event, which will feature the participation of various folklore groups from Austria, Algeria, Croatia, Mexico, and Romania. With their colors, rhythms, and melodies, these groups promise unique shows of tradition and folklore, in a wealth of unique cultural experiences.
The participating groups will perform in the courtyard of Imaculado Coração de Maria church, on August,18th,19th and 21st. These performances are integrated in the Imaculado Coração de Maria festivities.
On the morning of the 20th, some of the streets in the downtown area between Largo do Município to the Baltazar Dias Municipal Theater will be the center stage of a street parade by the groups participating in the event. On the last day of the festival, 22 August, the performances will take place at Cais 8 at 9 p.m.
