The 11th edition of Madeira Piano Fest takes place on 7, 8, 11, 14 and 15 November at 6 pm at Baltazar Dias Municipal Theatre, in Funchal, an event organised by the Associação Amigos do Conservatório de Música da Madeira under the artistic direction of Robert Andres.
The festival presents pianists of different nationalities for a series of recitals. The opening concert features the Madeira debut of Turkish pianist Gülsin Onay, who will perform works by J. S. Bach, Mozart, Chopin and Saygun in a recital entitled The Great Composers for Piano.
Co-produced by Funchal City Council and Teatro Municipal Baltazar Dias, with the support of Conservatório – Escola das Artes da Madeira, the Regional Secretariat for Tourism and Culture, through the Regional Directorate for Culture, and Grupo PortoBay.
This festival highlights the island’s cultural assets, broadens its appeal beyond its natural attractions and enhances Funchal’s cultural events calendar.
