Christmas Workshops

The Christmas workshops promote the preparation and sharing of traditional products, highlighting the most authentic Madeiran traditions of this festive season. On specific dates and times, next to the stage on Avenida Arriaga, you can take part free of charge and learn how to prepare a variety of typical delicacies, such as Honey Cake, wheat soup, homemade bread, Bolo do Caco, marinated pork (Carne de Vinha-d’alhos) and chícharo soup. There will also be demonstrations of Christmas table decoration using Madeira embroidery, as well as regional crafts.

These activities take place on 2, 4, 16, 18, 22 and 29 December, and also on 6 and 9 January 2026, at scheduled times, at the Concert Stage located in the Avenida Arriaga central walkaways.
