The New Year’s fireworks show, lasting about eight minutes, is launched from across 58 fireworks stations located in Funchal’s amphitheater (26 stations), Cais 8 and Praia Almirante Reis (25 stations), at sea (5 stations) and Porto Santo Island (2 stations).
This majestic display of light and color, with modern pyrotechnic designs, will present effects never seen before for New Year’s in the region. In 2006, the show was internationally recognized by the Guinness Book of Records as “The Largest Fireworks Display in the World.”
The New Year’s Fireworks Show will also be broadcast live on RTP-Madeira and on social media, with the sound complemented by radio transmission 105.9 FM.
