Shakespeare in the Wine Cellars

The magic of classical theatre comes to the Madeira Wine Cellars with an original and engaging proposal: William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Performed in English over three days, in the heart of the locations which hold the island’s most emblematic treasures, visitors and locals will be able to watch a shortened and adapted version of the famous romantic tragedy, in a unique environment which combines culture, heritage and enotourism.

Each day, the experience will take place at a different winery, in two performances per day, providing moments of intense emotion in a setting filled with authenticity and tradition.
