The Santa Clara Convent is the starting point for the urban historical route – “Rota da Doçaria Conventual”, an initiative integrated within the scope of the “Saborea Project”.
This itinerary will take place every Friday, on November (3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th), and includes a range of workshops lasting three hours, dedicated to the theme of Gastronomy and Sustainability, in order to promote local produce and products.
This events also intends to raise awareness of the rich heritage and heritage of Madeiran conventual sweets, intrinsically related with the sugar cane production, with special emphasis on the traditional and emblematic honey cake, malassadas and other delicacies.
