On the eve of Saint Peter’s Day, 28 June, there is an event with a fish auction, one of Porto Santo’s great traditions.
On the following day, a liturgical celebration takes place in Saint Peter’s chapel, including a procession that begins in the Ribeiro Salgado area. On these days, the main chapel is adorned with decorative paintings and works of art, on an occasion that portrays the devotion of the people of Porto Santo to the patron saint of fishermen.
