Organised by Vila Baleira Hotels and Resort, it aims to honour the Tuna and its ‘route’ through our lives and our cultures.

Summer Sunset Market

Soup Fair

In Madeira, a dish of hot soup is highly treasured and the more robust countryside soups are the Madeirans’ favourites. With the aim of sharing some of the secrets behind these soups, the Boaventura Community Centre, a parish in the Municipality of São Vicente, decided to organise the Countryside Soup Fair.
Therefore, on the 13th and 14th of June, genuine flavours lovers are invited to head towards the north coast of Madeira and taste ‘Caldo da Romaria’, ‘Açorda Madeirense’ (bread and garlic broth) and the onion, wheat, watercress and threshed corn soups.

Between spoonfuls, you can dance and have fun with the lively entertainment programme which marks this fair!

Thematic fairs – Gastronomy

The thematic fairs happen weekly, on Thursdays, being divided into different areas: Antiques and Second hand books, Gastronomy, Handcraft and Fashion, costume jewelry and decoration.

These allow the regional artisans a closer way to show off their work, in an emblematic and characteristical place in madeiran tradition, the Mercado dos Lavradores.
Its division, in the most distinct areas, allows a distinctive offer in terms of products provided to you, with a greater reach of the public that visits us.

Cherry’s Fest

The cherry is a fruit whose cultivation predominates in the upper part of the parish of Jardim da Serra, although in the past large quantities were also found in the parish of Curral das Freiras.

Baco Nights

The Madeira Wine Lounge, in Praça do Povo, is the ideal place for visitors to enjoy wine and gastronomy tastings, to the sound of different regional music groups. This location is divided into four specific sections: the Madeiran Wine Producers (11), destined for tasting Madeira Wines, liqueur and still wines; a section dedicated to gastronomy, where you can taste local delicacies; another dedicated to live music and DJs; and yet another section dedicated to masterclasses. The Wine Lounge aims at presenting the Madeira Wine Region to tourists and Madeirans, allowing them to deepen their knowledge on Madeira Wine and PDO “Madeirense” and PGI “Terras Madeirenses” wines (Madeiran White, Red, Sparkling and Rosés.

Living up to the fact that it is nicknamed the “land of wine” in Madeira, the Porto da Cruz Community Centre annually organizes the Grape and Farmer Festival.
This dynamic event seeks to value farmers, with the aim of promoting new ways of marketing and producing grapes, as well as sharing knowledge about wine production in general.
On the 5th and 6th September, during the grape harvest season, this parish with a strong winemaking tradition invites everyone to participate in the festivities which includes, among many others activities, an ethnographic parade alluding to the customs of Porto da Cruz.

Estreito’s Wine Harvest Festival

The Wine Harvest Festival gathers every year, in the first half of September, thousands of locals and tourists in the village of Estreito.
On Saturday morning, September 5th, the spotlight turns to Estreito de Câmara de Lobos, where the Harvest Festival takes place.
There, in a Madeiran property, the harvest will be carried out followed by an ethnographic parade counting on the participation of a vast number of folklore and ethnographic groups.
After the parade, the treading of the grapes is recreated, in a traditional winepress, with the free participation of those present under a festive atmosphere where there is music entertainment and regional gastronomy.

Apple Festival
