The Madeira International Fireworks Competition comprises three pyromusical shows, which take place on the first three Saturdays in June and can be viewed, over 20 minutes, across the whole of the bay of Funchal. For this edition, pyrotechnics companies from three countries are competing: Canada, China and Ukraine.
The aim is to win the trophies ‘Troféu do Atlântico’, awarded by a jury, as well as “Trophéu Madeira Tão Tua”, awarded by the public. The votes can be cast in ballot boxes located in the Plaza Madeira shopping centre, at the Tourist Information Office in Avenida Arriaga, and also at the Funchal pier, the night of the show.
