
The MIUS – Madeira Island Ultra Swim – Porto Santo 2026 is a prestigious open-water swimming competition, part of the national calendar for the sport, taking place on the idyllic island of Porto Santo between 23rd and 24th May.
It is one of the most iconic open-water swimming events, forming part of the National Open-Water Circuit – Open de Portugal. The competition is organised by the Madeira Swimming Association (ANM), in partnership with the Portuguese Swimming Federation (FPN).
Held in a natural setting of rare beauty, with superb seas and unique landscapes, this event has established itself as a benchmark in the national sporting calendar, combining competition, tourism promotion and the enhancement of Madeira as a destination.
This event contributes to the revitalisation and diversification of the tourism offering and is already a world-renowned aquatic event.
